Building Custom Gel Blasters Step-by-Step

For this step-by-step guide, we’re going to assume that you’ll be upgrading all of the components that we mentioned above.

OK, without further ado, let’s begin customising your gel blaster.  

Open the Front of Your Blaster 

Start by opening the front of the blaster and removing the outer barrel. Once removed, remove the inner barrel and replace it with the upgraded barrel before securing the new hop-up at the tip.

Open the Battery Component 

Next, open up the battery component, remove the current battery, and attach the new, more powerful battery. Note: When buying the battery, check that it has the correct connector type for your base model. 

Open the Gearbox 

Next, unscrew the gearbox. Replace the o-rings and apply some silicone oil. This is also your opportunity to switch out the spring, which should be located behind the piston. Remove it, attach the new spring, then carefully reassemble. 

Unscrew the Pistol Grip Plate

Unscrewing the pistol grip plate will provide access to the motor. Make a note of which wires attach where (there should be a Red, Positive wire, and a Black, Negative wire) before carefully removing the current motor. Add the new motor and connect the wires in the same position as before. Screw the plate back on. 

Reassemble and Test 

Now that all your main components have been upgraded, it’s time to reassemble the gel blaster and take it for a spin. All going well, you should recognise that your newly-customised gel blaster offers a much enhanced performance.
